The Perfect Hair Care Routine to Have a Good Hair Day Every Day

The Perfect Hair Care Routine to Have a Good Hair Day Every Day

Who doesn’t want to have a perfect head of hair? It’s always important to look your best, and people will invest a lot of time and money into their hair care routine to ensure that their hair looks fabulous.

This may come as a surprise, but the truth is that you don’t have to spend a lot to beautiful hair. In fact, the best hair care routine is more about maintenance and persistence than it is about using expensive products.

Are you ready to banish bad hair days and have hair that’ll be the envy of all of your friends? If you follow the tips in this article, people are going to want to learn all of your hair care secrets!

1. Don’t Over Shampoo

If you’re used to showering every day it’s safe to assume that you also shampoo your hair when you’re in the shower. Having clean hair is important, but washing your hair every day could be causing more problems than you’d think.

Even the most gentle and moisturizing shampoos can strip important oils from your hair and scalp. This can lead to frizzy hair and a dry, itchy scalp.

The number of oil people produce can vary from person to person. Even if you tend to have particularly oily hair, you really only need to wash it 2-3 times a week.

Also, don’t make the mistake of using too much shampoo when you decide to wash your hair. You don’t need to shampoo twice, and usually, only a quarter-sized amount of shampoo is needed to get your hair clean.

2. Use Conditioner

Do you feel strange showering without doing something to your hair? Instead of shampooing your hair each time you shower, consider adding a little conditioner to your routine.

Conditioner only “washes” can be a part of the best hair care routine for damaged hair. The extra bit of moisture you get from the conditioner can make your hair softer and more manageable.

Adding a conditioner to your daily shower routine can be helpful if you live in an area with hard water. All of the extra minerals in water could be drying out your hair.

3. Be Gentle When Drying

Drying hair can get complicated for people depending on their hair type. Some people may be fine letting their hair air dry, others may always need to use a blow dryer to get through their thick hair.

Regardless of your drying needs, the way you handle your wet hair after you get out of the shower is important. Don’t vigorously rub your wet hair too hard with a towel. The rubbing could break off hair, cause split ends, and make your hair frizzy.

Instead of rubbing, consider gently patting your hair dry to keep it intact. Remember, your hair is at its most delicate when it’s wet.

If you want to take your hair drying game a step further, consider buying a special towel to dry your hair. Towels that are made for hair drying are designed to be softer and more gentle on hair. You can even get some that are specially made for wrapping hair up to dry.

4. Use the Right Tools

Your hair will only be as nice as the tools you’re using in it. If you want to ensure that you’re taking care of your hair the right way, invest in some high-quality hair care tools.

Find a hairdryer with multiple settings. Sometimes you may want to dry your hair with cool air during hot days or because you’re concerned about heat damage.

Take some time to learn about your hair type and find a brush that works best for you. You may find that a boar bristle brush works better for your hair type than plastic bristles.

Avoid any hair ties that have metal in them. The metal parts can get tangled in your hair and cause breakage. Instead, look for elastic only bands. If you want to reduce fly-aways and protect some of your hair’s moisture, consider using silk hair scrunchies.

5. Consider Clarifying Shampoo

Do you currently dye your hair? Did you used to dye your hair? Are you concerned about how chemicals from coloring treatments can affect the look and feel of your hair?

If you answered yes to any of the previous questions, consider using a clarifying shampoo the next time you wash your hair.

Clarifying shampoo can help wash away some of the residual chemicals left from treatments and will leave your hair looking more sleek and healthy.

6. Get Your Ends Trimmed

If you’re trying to grow out your hair the last thing you may want is for your stylist to cut any of it off. Don’t make the mistake of fearing the scissors, they could be the best thing you use to help your hair grow!

Split ends and dead ends can cause real harm to hair if they aren’t dealt with. If you don’t trim your dead and split ends, they’ll simply continue to degrade, break, and cause more damage.

You don’t have to ask your stylist for a trim, simply ask if they can snip off your dead ends. You’ll still retain your length and you’ll be doing something to help your hair grow.

7. Avoid Using Heat

Your high heat hair dryer may get your hair dry fast, but it could also be damaging your hair. Too much heat can dry out your hair and cause breakage and split ends. If you need heat to dry your hair, consider lowering the heat setting and simply taking more time to dry it.

You may love the straight hair look, but you should avoid using your straightener every day. Some stylists don’t recommend straightening hair more than once a week.

If you have to straighten your hair consider putting your straighter on a low setting. Also, moisturize your hair beforehand for extra protection.

8. Find Your Best Hair Care Routine and More

Finding the best hair care routine for your hair is simple if you know where to start. When you focus on products, heat, and timing you’ll be well on your way to having a healthy head of hair.
