Hair & Care
Yes, but please never sleep with a wet hair. Before sleep, make sure your hair is dry and tie your hair back. It is always best to make a loose braid or ponytail when sleep.
All Full Shine® Hair extensions are made from 100% virgin/remy human hair. It is by far the best quality of human hair extensions on the market because of the care that is required and the time it takes to sort the hair so meticulously.
Yes, hair extensions are a great way for adding thickness to thin and fine hair, without causing any damage to your natural hair or hindering hair growth in the meantime.
General Speaking the hair extensions can last for 2 to 4 months. The virgin hair could last at least 6 months (if you take good care of it, it can last for a year), depending on the general care they receive and how often they are worn. The important thing to remember is that your hair extensions don’t have a natural hydration source like your own hair does so keeping them moisturized and reducing dryness is crucial to prolonging their lifespan. Your personal care matters the life of the extensions. In a word, the more you look after them the longer they will last.
Thankfully, there are some simple ways to reduce shedding and ensure that your hair extensions remain smooth and tangle-free.
- Brush your hair often
The first and quite possibly one of the most important steps is to brush your extensions out before washing them and only once the hair is 90% dry. This helps minimize the possibility of breakage and shedding because the hair is at its weakest point when wet. Keep in mind it is also more susceptible to breakage when wet. Instead, use your fingers to gently loosen any tangles. Always gently brush your extensions before and after each use to reduce shedding and breakage. This will also prolong their lifespan. You can do this by starting at the ends and making your way up to the roots.
You can use a wide-tooth comb or a soft bristle brush. Always have a brush in your bag, so that even when you’re out and about you can still give your hair a quick brush.
- Keep your hair extensions moisturized
Keeping your extensions moisturized and nourished is crucial, considering they don’t have a natural hydration source like your own hair does. If you are brushing your extensions throughout the day and you seem to notice dryness or some minor breakage, apply a pearl-size amount of a lightweight or water-based hair serum or a lightweight oil. Always ensure you apply it from the midshaft of the hair down to the ends and follow by brushing the extensions to evenly distribute the product throughout. Remember, less is more. You do not need to apply a hair oil daily, as this can cause buildup on your extensions. Instead, you apply it once a week or when you notice significant tangling and dryness.
- Use the right hair products
The proper hair products make all the difference in whether your extensions will tangle or be soft and manageable. Purchase products specifically formulated for dry and damaged hair, as they will help keep the strands healthy and nourished. Also, look for products that add moisture to the hair like argan oil, coconut oil, and castor oil. Purchasing sulfate and alcohol-free products is a necessity as they are imperative to maintain the health of your extensions. These ingredients strip the hair of its natural oils and will affect their integrity. This, in turn, makes the hair drier and more prone to tangling or matting.
- Hydrate your hair extensions
Since your extensions don’t absorb the oils your natural hair would, you don’t have to wash them as often. As a general rule, the less you wash your extensions the longer they will last you. When washing your extensions, it's important you hydrate them as much as possible, and apply a moisturizing conditioner before and after shampooing. Sometimes, you can even skip the shampoo and only co-wash your extensions with conditioner! Always be sure to rinse the extensions in cold water at the end to close cuticles and lock in moisture.
When you notice your extensions getting dry or tangled, apply a deep conditioning treatment or mask. This will hydrate and restore some moisture back into them, as well as help make them softer and more manageable to style. It’s an easy and simple process to do—all you have to do is dampen your extensions and apply a generous amount of deep conditioning treatment conditioner to the hair, and let it soak in the product for 5-6 hours or overnight by placing it in a shower cap or a plastic bag. Rinse off as normal the next day.
Improper hair care can also take a toll on your extensions. When washing, make sure to handle the extensions gently and to not rub them vigorously. After you are finished, carefully squeeze any excess water from the extensions. Never rub your extensions dry with a towel. Instead, always lay them out on a flat surface and gently pat them dry. When air drying, invest in a microfiber towel as it will remove excess water faster and it won’t rough up the hair (which can also cause tangles).
When blow drying, start by focusing on drying the root of the weft first and then working your way down to the ends. Always blow-dry downwards as this will help to not only smooth the cuticle but it will also prevent the hair from getting tangled since it is being blown in lots of different directions.
Full Shine® Hair extensions are offered in 60+ beautiful colors ranging from Jet Black to Platinum Blonde, and from Highlights to Balayage.

How To Take Your Photos?
Ensure the photo(s) are taken in natural light (away from direct sunlight) where we can see it fully (from root to ends).
You can definitely wear them to the beach or by the pool, however, we do not recommend getting into the water with them (unless your hair is tied up and will not get wet, and please wear a swim cap to protect your extensions to salt water and chlorine water when you are swimming)
Have you ever noticed how dry and tangled your natural hair feels after swimming in a chlorinated pool or salt water? Chlorine from swimming pools, salt from ocean water, and dirt in all bodies of water can be damaging to your hair extensions. Also, swimming with your extensions clipped in may lead to the extensions tangling with your natural hair, which can be damaging.
Avoid doing any physical activity that could lead to excessive sweat, when you are wearing hair extensions. Remember, your sweat is salty, acidic and can dry out your hair extensions so this could lead to additional matting and tangling, causing your hair extensions to deteriorate faster. To increase the lifespan of your extensions, try to minimize their exposure to sweat.
You have a beautiful and unique hair color that doesn't quite match any of the shades we offer? No stress! Full Shine® Hair extensions are made of 100% human hair and can be dyed a darker color or toned by a professional hair colorist.
- Do's
- Always do a test strand prior to dyeing the full set
- Always have a professional hair colorist work on your extensions
- Don't's
- Use any bleach (this includes highlights) We do not recommend bleaching your hair as they have already been dyed at our manufacture, and forcing bleach on hair that has already been dyed can be difficult. Bleaching is a damaging process that will alter the quality and integrity of your set. Increasing the concentration of bleach or leaving it in longer to soak will only lead to damaged hair.
- Use products that contain sulfates or alcohol These ingredients strip the hair of its natural oils and will affect their integrity. This, in turn, makes the hair drier and more prone to tangling or matting. Another downside is that these products will fade your hair color quicker.
- Try to dye them yourself at home or use over-the-counter dyes/toners
- Over-wash them
- Apply purple shampoo directly to the hair This can create patchiness and tangling and because certain areas of hair will soak up more of the shampoo which will cause staining and patchiness.
- Can I return/exchange them if I'm not happy with the end result?
Kindly note, dyeing or toning your hair extensions may alter the structure of the hair, resulting in a lowered lifespan. Although many of our customers have used these products with lots of success, we are not responsible and can not accept any returns or exchanges on hair extensions that have been treated with dye, toner, or any color depositing shampoos/conditioners/products. Also, we will be unable to provide an exchange or refund for sets that have been damaged due to bleaching.
Just like your natural hair, extensions will shed. Shedding is a common occurrence with hair extensions and because they are made of human hair, you can expect some shedding throughout their lifespan. As you brush and style your Fullshine Hair, some fall-out may occur so don’t be surprised or worried when this happens. This, however, does not mean to reduce the amount you brush your extensions as you can minimize shedding in other ways. Keep in mind, extensions are more likely to shed when they are dry and brittle.
- Do they tangle?
Matting and tangling is a normal occurrence with not just your natural hair but with all types of hair extensions. This can happen due to a lack of constant brushing, weather, or dryness. A common reason why extensions tangle and get matted throughout the day is because of a combination of sweat, heat, and friction. Also, keep in mind that when human hair is constantly moving around it’s going to matt or ‘clump’ together in pieces.
If you aren’t brushing your hair consistently, you’re giving the hair the opportunity to matt and tangle. During the day, we generate heat at the nape of our neck and scalp, and often times we sweat back there too. Your sweat is salty, acidic and can dry out your hair extensions. When you add additional hair volume to this combination and constantly move your head throughout the day, tangling and matting will occur. Weather can also contribute to tangling, whether it be due to the wind, humidity or heat. Humidity will add a lot of moisture to the environment which will cause your hair to frizz up and tangle. Heat will do just the opposite as it will dry it out.
- How do you prevent tangling and reduce shedding?

5 Ways to Remove Tape in Hair Extensions
There will come a time when you will need to remove your tape in hair extensions. Although there are countless ways to remove them, we've compiled a short list of simple ways to get them removed
- The safest and most effective way to remove your tape in hair extensions is to seek professional assistance from a licensed salon professional.
- Oil-based removers for tape in hair extensions can vary from coconut oil, Olive Oil, palm oil or any other oil alike. This method typically requires the user to layer the oil at the top of the tab and allow time (and sometimes heat either from the warmth of the scalp or from an outside source - such as a blow dryer) for the oil to seep down in between the tab and loosen the tackiness from the tape. Additional oil may be used after peeling has begun to help aid in the removal process.
- Conditioner can be used in the same manner as oil to help remove the tape in hair extensions. This process takes more time and patience then oil. In many cases, massaging the tab area can help loosen the stickiness and allow the conditioner to seep in between the tape tabs.
- Alcohol-based removers are generally in a liquid spray form. These removers are sprayed directly above the tape in hair extension tab. Allow time for the alcohol based remover to seep down in between the tape tabs and gently peel apart. Use additional spray as the corners are lifted to aid in the removal process. Some users have found that a simple mixture of household alcohol (rubbing alcohol) water and a few drops of an essential oil are the perfect combination of gentle removal. The essential oils add a pleasant scent during the removal process.
- A combination approach can be very useful. Start by applying an oil to the tape tab and massaging it into every tab. Then, while showering, apply a generous amount of conditioner directly on the tape in hair extensions tab and massaging each one liberally and gently. Upon leaving the shower, spray your alcohol based remover above the tape tab and gently peel apart, applying additional spray or oil as needed to aid in the removal process.
Full Shine® Hair extensions are made with 100% human hair, which means they can be washed and styled just like your own natural hair. Since your extensions aren't subject to the oils produced by your scalp the way your natural hair is, you don’t have to wash them as often. As a general rule, the less you wash your extensions the longer they will last.
- Detangle hair gently before washing.
- With warm water gently wet the extensions. Put shampoo (Light Color Shampoo No Purple Shampoo) with low or absolutely no sulfates on them.
- Rinse out the shampoo.Apply conditioner. For tape in hair extensions, don't put conditioner on the tapes, which may cause the tapes fall out easily. Once you've rinsed out the conditioner and they've dried, comb through the extensions so they're not tangled You can leave the extensions out in air to dry.
- Do not Rub or Twist hair when you wash them. Crush straight hair in a downward motion starting with the ends, work your way up to the roots. Hair may tangle if general care directions are not followed properly.
Why alcohol / sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner?
Purchasing sulfate-free and alcohol-free products is a necessity as they are imperative to maintain the health of your extensions. These ingredients strip the hair of its natural oils and will affect their integrity. This, in turn, makes the hair drier and more prone to tangling or matting.
- GENERAL CARE
A light braid, wrap or low ponytail is recommended for sleeping, swimming, athletics or any activities alike. Low heat (180 degrees Celsius ), loose curls, light braids, and utilizing the natural wave pattern are the preferred methods of styling. Regularly brush through your hair and the extensions using a brush. Any styles that would cause the tape tab to be over directed or pulled away from the natural growth pattern should be avoided to ensure a damage-free extension life. Full Shine® Tape In Hair Extensions can be removed and replaced as often as needed.
- SHAMPOO / CONDITION
Full Shine® Tape In Hair Extensions should be shampooed using the pads of your fingers in an interlocking motion between the extensions. Apply additional shampoo as needed throughout the mid-shafts and ends, squeezing the extensions, not rubbing together. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Conditioner can be applied to the mid-shaft and ends. Do not apply conditioner to the tape tabs to avoid slippage. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Repeat as needed.
- CONDITIONING MASQUES
Conditioning Masques, deep treatments can be used only if applied two inches away from the tape tab. "Bond Builders", "End Menders', "Fiber Wraps", or any "Keratin" product alike should not be used on Full Shine® Tape In Hair Extensions. These products leave a gummy residual buildup that causes damage to the extension hair.
- STYLE
Apply a leave-in conditioner to the extensions mid-shafts and ends, avoiding the tape tab. Part the hair horizontally and gently release the hair with a brush. Apply additional product for the desired result avoiding the extension tape tab. Blow dry the hair with your fingers until the hair is approximately 75% dry. Section your hair and style using a wide tooth brush. Excessive use of tension is not necessary and not recommended. If hot tools are used, the recommended temperature setting is at or under 180 degrees Celsius. Always use a heat protecting product to ensure the longevity of the extension.
- COLORING
Full Shine® Tape In Hair Extensions come in a wide variety to seamlessly match any desired color. We do not recommend coloring the extensions in manner including depositing shampoos, as they contain chemicals that can damage the extension. However, should you choose to do so, please perform a test using demi or Semi color only with no peroxide.
- REUSING THE HAIR
Full Shine® Tape In Hair Extensions is priced with the affordability and freedom to enjoy new hair at every installation. Forget the hassle of removing and reinstalling the same old hair. Instead, enjoy fresh new hair for virtually the same price as removing and replacing the old hair. Full Shine® Tape in Hair Extensions is collected from 100% Natural Virgin/Remy Human Hair Donors. We do no use synthetic or animal product blends.
- SKIN TESTING / ALLERGIES
Similar to hair color and other salon chemicals, we always recommend doing a patch test with any new product. Although medical grade adhesives are used, it is always best to perform patch tests.
PERFORMING A PATCH TEST FOR TAPE IN HAIR EXTENSIONS TAPE:
The patch test is used to ensure the user of any product does not have a negative reaction to a particular tape or adhesive.
- Place a small amount of adhesive/tape on an area of sensitive skin.
- Put a band-aid over the adhesive/tape and let it sit overnight.
- Remove the band-aid the following day (at least 24 hours) and check for any reaction.
If there is any redness or irritation, do not use the product. Also, check to make sure the bond didn't release from the skin. If no irritation occurred and the bond was secure, you can use the product with confidence.

- Hair Thinning or Hair Loss
Anyone with hair loss who wishes to cover up thinning areas or baldness on the scalp may desire a topper. This type of hair loss can occur as a result of aging, alopecia, certain medications (like chemo), stress, trichotillomania and many other conditions.
- Fine or Flat Hair
Topper is great for women that have fine or flat hair, because it gives you much more hair volume and coverage on top.
- Hair Lack Volume
If you feel that your hair is lacking volume, a topper can not only help disguise areas of hair loss, but add the look of fullness to your existing hair as well.
- Balance Out Lengthy Extensions
Not everyone who wears a topper has hair loss. Some women wear toppers to balance out lengthy extensions by adding more hair to the top of the head with a topper.
STEP 1: Determine Your Type of Hair Loss
- Beginning Stage
Hair loss begins in a diffused pattern at the top of the head resulting in minimal loss. Most women with this stage of hair loss will need a topper with a smaller base size or one with an interable base.
- Progressive Stage
This is the stage of hair loss where the scalp becomes noticeable through sparse areas of hair. A medium to large base is typically needed.
- Advanced Stage
Hair loss at this stage is typically very noticeable and completely bald areas of scalp are visible. The largest of base sizes will work to completely conceal hair loss. Some women with advanced stage hair loss may want to consider shopping for a full wig.
STEP 2: Measure the Area of Hair Loss
With a soft measuring tape, record the measurements of the widest points from front to back and side to side across the area where you are experiencing hair loss.
Record the measurements, adding one inch to each measurement to allow for a half an inch of hair on each side or end of the base for a clip to attach into your existing hair.
STEP 3: Choose a Base Type
Now that you know your measurements, take note of where your hair loss is located. This will help in determining the type of base that you choose.
STEP 4: Select Hair Type, Length, Color
